Make your characters do the workOne way of fattening up your characters is to have them write letters and diary entries. Let your character "tell" you about himself. You won´t necessarily paste what you write directly into the story, but it will at least give you a broader framework from which to view them. Don´t be surprised if your story takes off in a brand new (improved) direction.
